Why ‘cyberlink’ is ‘not enough’ to stop Russian hacking
The Hill article Cyberlink, a social media software company, announced Monday that it will launch a new platform that will help users share their data with the government.
The company is developing a social network called “cyberlinked” that will allow people to share data with their government.
Cyberlink says it will offer the same tools to the government as Facebook, Twitter, Google and Microsoft already offer.
The new platform is not a replacement for traditional government systems, Cyberlink said in a blog post Monday.
Cyberlinked will not provide access to personal information.
Instead, Cyberlinked promises to provide government agencies with the tools they need to conduct investigations, analyze and report on cyber threats, while also enabling users to connect with friends and family and to share relevant information with them.
“Cyberlinked is not just a platform for social networking,” said Brian Krebs, founder of KrebsOnSecurity, a cybersecurity company.
“It’s a platform to share the information that government agencies need.”
The new service is a departure for Cyberlink from traditional government social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
In fact, the company is using a different name, CyberLink.
It’s the company that, in a 2014 report, said the social media companies are “trying to capture and monetize our data without giving us any choice.”
It was also the name of a new social network that Facebook launched in 2018.
In a blog posting Monday, Cyberlinks founder and CEO Robert Wertheimer said that the new platform will “offer the government the tools it needs to investigate cyber threats and share the results of their investigations with the public.”
“CyberspaceLink is the first of its kind in the world to offer governments access to government data without being dependent on a centralized database,” he wrote.
“CyberLink is a great addition to our existing tools for sharing information and to the platform for creating content to be shared with government agencies.”
The government already offers social media tools to its citizens.
Last month, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced that it would launch the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Initiative, a $20 million program that will give cybersecurity experts access to information shared by the government and private companies.
In addition, President Donald Trump signed an executive order in December that will expand the use of social media to counter foreign hacking efforts.
It allows government agencies to share cyber threat indicators with other federal agencies.
“I don’t know of any technology that can match the speed and effectiveness of the new technology being developed by Cyberlink,” Krebs said.
The move to create a social networking platform is a significant departure from traditional social media services, said James Pindell, a professor at Northeastern University’s law school.
The traditional social networking platforms such as Facebook and Google, which have a large and active following, can help users in certain ways, but they can also allow them to have a huge amount of control over their content.
“In the case of social networking, it is a problem because you have to have the ability to control what people see, to censor certain kinds of content,” he said.
“If you are trying to control a social platform, you have no idea who will see what you post.
It doesn’t make sense.”
But Krebs on Monday said the new cyber-enabled platform will help the government share more sensitive information with its citizens, and it will also allow the government to use the platform to better identify the perpetrators of cyberattacks.
“You can have a conversation with people on Twitter and get information about who hacked into a company,” he told The Hill.
“You can use it to see who is behind that hack.
And when you can use that information, you can do other things.””
If you want to get ahead of these attacks, you need to use these tools,” he added.
